New Build – Boat PDI – A comprehensive boat Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI) (EMS check sheet) ensures all systems function and the vessel constructed in accordance with the specification, contract and industry standards  Being 100% ‘operational’ before handover.

Key areas to include (but not limited to) checking for any hull & deck issues, verifying engine & propulsion systems & performance, generator installation & operation, testing all electronics – navigation equipment, nav lights, bilge pumps etc, 12v / 24v DC electrics, inspecting steering and all control systems, fresh / grey water tankage and pipework installations, confirming fuel system integrity and conformity and ensuring all safety equipment (PFDs, fire extinguishers, life-rafts) are present.

European Marine Services have a comprehensive in-house designed PDI Check Sheet enabling efficient and professional inspection, with nothing left to chance 

• Undertaking tests as required and installation / construction inspection of all vessel systems
• Undertaking vessel and engine performance trials (under load) as required
• Ensuring that the new-build conforms to builder’s specification & owner’s contract and meets all current recommended standards, plus quality control

Owner’s Representative (OR)  in boat building, plays a crucial role in ensuring the owner’s vision is realised during the construction process. Owner’s Representative responsibilities include but not limited to:

• Acting as the owner’s advocate, liasing and communicating with all parties – designers, builders, project managers, contractors and consultants
• This role is essential for protecting the owner’s investment and ensuring that the vessel meets the owner’s needs and standards
• Monitoring project timelines, budgets, and quality to ensure the vessel meets the owner’s expectations
• Monitoring the build specification (contract) and approving amendments and changes in accordance with owner’s vision
