We undertake marine insurance and accident investigations, boat safety scheme reports and non destructive testing. European Marine offer a comprehensive and detailed approach to marine & yacht surveying. Boat surveys (or just appraisals) of all vessel types and all materials are carried out on steel barges, inland waterway narrow boats, work boats, motor boats, offshore power boats, super yacht and large and small sail boats.

As qualified and experienced yacht & marine surveyors we formulate realistic and dependable indications of the vessel's structure, condition and if required a market valuation. Associated risks for sea-going private yachts, inland water craft, commercial workboats and vessels of all types. The report is relied upon by owners, buyers, agents, marine insurance underwriters and financial institutions.

Modern day vessels which are constructed with high-tech materials can no longer can be surveyed and inspected solely by the old "knuckle tapping" technique. And older wood hulls need a competent marine surveyor with in-depth experience and training on wooden vessel construction. We have conducted inspections on wooden sailing yachts up to 100ft

A complete boat survey involving percussion sounding and / or moisture meter readings of the hull - wood or GRP (fibreglass) and superstructure will be required by your insurance company before obtaining a new boat insurance policy. Surveying is carried out by (NDT) non-invasive and non-destructive methods only.

Detailed and comprehensive marine survey and valuation reports are completed and in hand usually within about 3 working days. We have extensive experience in Pre-purchase surveys, in-depth yacht surveys covering wood GRP steel, marine accident investigations and the UK Boat Safety Scheme (BSS) Certification.

We also offer an Affordable and Quick – Condition Appraisal Service by providing an experienced view as to the vessel’s general condition so helping all parties - brokers, buyers and sellers in completing a speedy and successful deal

•   Diesel Engine Inspection

As boat surveyors (not technical engineers) we visually inspect propulsion engines during our examination. No dismantling of the engine or associated equipment is carried out within the scope of a yacht surveys report so no detailed comment upon the internal parts is possible.
